Injunction to protect a tenant

An injunction has been issued to protect a Homes in Sedgemoor customer from abuse and coercive behaviour.  One person has been banned from visiting the customer in their home.

Homes in Sedgemoor received reports and ongoing complaints from neighbours regarding noise nuisance and anti-social behaviour as well as hearing concerns that this resident was being taken advantage of by a third party.

Following discussions about the concerns with our partners at Avon and Somerset Police, Homes in Sedgemoor applied for an injunction. The injunction was designed to protect the resident and prevent the individual being investigated from continuing to cause problems. The injunction was issued and the person named in it has been banned from attending the block of flats in order to safeguard all residents and in particular the resident in question who was being taken advantage of.

Homes in Sedgemoor worked with relevant support agencies to ensure this individual was safeguarded as best as possible.

The injunction will last for 12 months and if any issues occur in the meantime, Homes in Sedgemoor will work with partners at the Police and refer the matter back to the courts for action to be taken.

A HiS spokesperson added: “The team take all reports of anti-social behaviour seriously and we will continue to take proactive action to prevent harm to and provide safety to our residents and communities.”
