Safe homes to provide refuge

We are pleased to be taking on the management of 13 properties to provide safe homes for displaced persons.

Somerset Council has been provided with £3.5m from the Government’s Local Authority Housing Fund to buy 31 homes to house refugees from Afghanistan and Ukraine.

Duncan, Development Manager at Homes in Sedgemoor, said: “We have been working alongside Somerset Council to identify and purchase properties, which will provide sustainable housing for those unable to secure their own accommodation who are here under official resettlement schemes.

“Homes in Sedgemoor is pleased to be managing 13 of the 31 homes identified and purchased by the council.

“We look forward to welcoming new customers into the homes.”

These homes will be re-let to people on the council’s housing waiting list when they later become vacant.

The funding has been allocated from the Government’s £500m Local Authority Housing Fund.
